Opinion.
I do not entertain the slightest doubt as to the course which it is the duty of the Government to pursue.
Duty
This case should take its course in the usual way before the Magistrate & Police.
There is no International Comity empowering the British Government to violate the well-recognized law of asylum, by detaining in custody Subjects of a Foreign State on a charge which it is not within the Jurisdiction of British Tribunals to entertain, and it is for that reason that Extradition treaties &c.
